Wanhai Shipping's March revenue doubled year-on-year

Wan Hai Shipping recently released a financial report. In March this year, the company's revenue was NT$12.858 billion (about 2.957 billion yuan), an increase of 100.68% over the same period last year and a monthly increase of 4.8%, but lower than the record high of NT$135.4 in January. billion.

  In the first quarter, Wanhai Shipping’s revenue was NT$38.667 billion (approximately RMB 8.893 billion), a year-on-year increase of 114.73%.

  Since the second half of last year, Wanhai Shipping has been optimistic about the container shipping market and has actively built containers and purchased ships. Since the beginning of this year, Wanhai Shipping has successively invested 1 billion US dollars to order 12 3013TEU container ships in Japan Shipbuilding Union (JMU) and the first batch of 5 13200TEU Neo-Panamax container ships in Hyundai Heavy Industries.

 In terms of hand-held orders, Wanhai Shipping has delivered 8 3036TEU container ships since last year, 12 2038TEU container ships are expected to be delivered successively from this year to 2022, and the newly ordered 12 3013TEU container ships will be delivered from 2022 to 2023. Delivered annually, five 13,200TEU container ships will be delivered from the first quarter of 2023.

 In the second-hand ship market, Wanhai Shipping passed a US$360 million second-hand ship acquisition plan at the end of last year. Up to now, it has acquired 12 second-hand ships, with a total purchase amount of nearly US$300 million.

According to Alphaliner data, the Wanhai Shipping fleet currently operates 130 vessels, including 75 self-owned vessels and 55 leased vessels, with a total capacity of 358,029 TEU, ranking 11th in the world. Wanhai Shipping is mainly engaged in Asian routes. The cargo volume in Asia accounts for 74% of the operation, and the market share in Asia reaches 15%.

  In order to further increase its revenue, Wan Hai Shipping announced that it will open its doors on April 30.Hongkong/Vietnam/West India route (CI8), equipped with 4 2100TEU class container ships for regular cruise service, one cruise for a total of 28 days.

  Wanhai Shipping pointed out that this route is one of Wanhai Shipping’s route layouts to optimize the Asian section to the West India market. It can not only provide a wider range of convenient loading ports, but also shorten the delivery time and meet the shipping trade needs of customers. .
